The Mission of the Church: An Agency of Healing

Description

We are the body of Christ and each one of us has a role to play in cultivating God’s kingdom on earth (see 1 Corinthians 12). Likewise, we are the bride of Christ (see Revelation 21) and are preparing for our coming King. He gave up his life for us and calls us to imitate his self-sacrificial love (see Ephesians 5.22-23). Christ lives in us, which is the hope of glory (see Colossians 1.27), meaning the spiritual spark inside each of us anticipates the full flame of God’s blessing we will one day enjoy.

Taken together, we begin to understand the mind-blowing conclusion that God intends to heal the world through us. This curriculum will help recenter our ecclesiology on healthy biblical understanding; discover new opportunities for our church to work with God to heal the world; and create a plan for getting our church back on mission.
