Missional Triple Bottom Line: Maximizing the Common Good

Instead of trying to convince our people that they should bring their friends to church, we encourage them to bring their church to friends. This is done in partial fulfillment of Jesus’ instructions to be witnesses in our “Jerusalem” (meaning, our home town) and may include things like service projects, charitable endeavors, or educational opportunities.

These endeavors work best when accompanied by a holistic outreach strategy servicing a triple bottom line of publicity, community development, and inter-business cooperation.

This curriculum will help you learn to think practically about both civil and economic needs in the community; explore new ways of celebrating businesses, giving business-owners a chance to invest in their neighborhoods; generate new excitement for the church as a provider of “good news” within the area; and increase community interest in the church, resulting in an influx of visitors.
