“Learning” the way of Jesus

Description

1956, Benjamin Bloom published his “Taxonomy of Educational Objectives”, a framework for how we understand learning. Bloom divides learning to lower (knowledge, comprehension, and application) and higher levels of learning (analysis, synthesis, evaluation), and sadly most preaching stops at the lower levels. But we must push beyond lower level learning in order to help form faithful disciples, which is one of the benefits of teaching through series’, since we are afforded more time, space, and leeway to explore. This curriculum will help you ground ourselves in a healthy framework for spiritual learning; understand how to apply that framework to a sermon series, and to individual sermons; and alter our preaching, liturgy, and communication to cultivate, reinforce, and experience deeper discipleship.
